Nearly 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland were left without power on the start of the week after powerful weather events impacted the region, producing powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.

Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage

Locals reported large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that multiple regions across the state had been affected by significant hail.

At one point on Sunday, more than twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in the state were experiencing outages.

Damp conditions were predicted to continue along significant areas of Queensland's east this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.

Tomorrow was predicted as the most rainy day, with continued storm activity predicted across different parts of both regions.

Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
