The star has handed over the complete sum of his £25k honor cash to the Music Venues Trust, which operates to protect the UK's independent concert spaces.

The star was awarded the award on 16 October as his third album the album was declared the outstanding release of the previous year.

He has chosen to give the cash to the MVT, in appreciation of the vital role local spots fulfilled in his early career.

"I personally wouldn't be doing what I am doing today if it hadn't been for all the shows I performed around the region, and beyond, when I was starting out," stated the artist. "These locations are legendary, but they are struggling."

Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these venues have ceased operations – roughly 16 percent of the whole industry in the UK.

In the last year, well-known musicians including Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all supported the trust in its attempts to support the industry, by adding a modest fee to their admission fees, which benefits independent venues.

He also took part, collecting more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to help numerous local spots across Britain.

These funds assisted venues that were dealing with imminent closure due to issues arising from flooding, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as regulatory hurdles, court cases and noise complaints.

Other venues received financial assistance in upgrading infrastructure and technical equipment that helped musicians and concertgoers.

"The notion that revenue from shows in major spaces backs the smaller venues, where it all starts for performers like me, is just logical," the star has stated.

The musician is far from the only musician to give his award winnings to good deeds.

Back when Pulp earned the award in the year 1996 for their release the album, vocalist the singer stated that the band would donate their winnings to the organization War Child.

In 2002, artist Ms Dynamite shared her award among a few organizations, like the children's charity and a charity for Sickle Cell.

"And I gave a £1,000 to my local community centre, to their gymnastics class, because I did gymnastics when I was a child and they lacked updated gear," the artist told a publication.

Previously, Ezra Collective donated their winnings to the youth organization that nurtured their act, as well as other independent music bodies.

Additionally winners that year M People gave their winnings to a charity for MS after a friend was found to have the disease.

"The victory was ample," stated singer Small. "The cash was the bonus but we didn't require the cherry, because we had the main prize. So our victory touched somebody else's life."

Last week, the MVT revealed it had protected a couple of grassroots venues in south-east England, by bringing them into public stewardship.

The first in that area and The Croft in that location were bought under the Own Our Venues program, which is supported by Arts Council England and enthusiasts who buy "ownership units" in the buildings.
